The PRP & Microneedling procedure, sometimes called the “Vampire Facial,” is a cutting-edge microneedling procedure that tightens, lifts, and rejuvenates the skin.
What does the treatment involve?
PRP & Microneedling can administer the treatment at a more regulated depth, which is more pleasant, targeted, and with less downtime than typical derma roller treatments. It primarily treats acne scars and uneven skin texture by successfully targeting the dermis (the skin underneath the epidermis).
How does the PRP side of things work?
The basic premise behind Platelet-Rich-Plasma (PRP) is that the body has innate healing abilities that are strong enough to reduce the effects of ageing and promote hair growth. This treatment is administered using a small blood sample. The blood cells, serum, and platelets are subsequently separated using a centrifuge machine. The platelet-rich plasma is drawn out and immediately injected back into the face. Growth factors, released by PRP platelets, encourage cells to produce new tissue, aiding in the body’s ability to heal itself. This treatment has successfully reduced fine lines, uneven skin tone, and dull skin when injected into the skin.
What about microneedling? How does that work?
You will have a microneedling session after the PRP portion of the procedure. In my clinic, we do microneedling procedures using DermapenTM. DermapenTM, widely regarded as the industry standard in micro-needling technology, stimulates the skin’s production of new collagen and elastin. This creation lets the skin organically and securely rejuvenate and mend itself. Skin that is smoother, brighter, healthier, and younger-looking is the result.
