    PRP & Microneedling (Vampire Facial)

    PRP & Microneedling (also known as the Vampire Facial) is a revolutionary micro-needling treatment that lifts, tightens and rejuvenates the skin. Unlike the traditional dermaroller treatments, PRP & Microneedling is able to deliver treatment at a more controlled depth, which is more comfortable, targetted with less downtime. It effectively targets the dermis (the skin beneath the epidermis) to mainly treat acne scars and uneven skin texture.

    Platelet-Rich-Plasma (PRP) works on the basis that the body has healing powers potent enough to improve the signs of ageing and hair growth. We carry out this treatment by taking a small blood sample. This is then spun in a centrifuge machine that separates the blood cells, serum and platelets. The platelet-rich plasma is extracted and injected directly back into the face or scalp. PRP Platelets release growth factors that help the body repair itself by stimulating cells to generate new tissue. When injected into the skin, this treatment promotes healthy skin and hair growth, and has been shown to be effective at improving fine lines, skin tone and dull skin.

    Following on from the PRP part of the treatment you will have a session of microneedling. At my clinic we use DermapenTM for our Microneedling treatments. Widely recognised as the gold standard in micro-needling technology, DermapenTM works by stimulating the skin to produce new collagen and elastin. This production enables the skin to regenerate and repair itself naturally and safely. The results are smoother, brighter, healthier, younger-looking skin. Dr Nicole uses DermapenTM as part of her full face, systematic approach to facial rejuvenation.

    We can also combine this treatment with HA (Hyaluronic Acid) to give an extra boost to make your skin look more invigorated.

      • What is PRP & Microneedling?

        PRP & Microneedling is a fractional rejuvenation treatment that uses fine needles to create tiny punctures in the skin. This promotes a remodelling response within the body which renews skin cells. As the skin repairs, collagen and elastin production is triggered. This gives an almost immediate plumping effect. PRP & Microneedling can tackle a range of skin concerns such as acne scars and uneven skin texture.

      • How many treatments should I have?

        We recommend a course of 3-6 treatments, 4-6 weeks apart. Treating acne scars may take a little longer, This treatment generally works best for mild scars and stretch marks.

      • What is Dermapen™?

        Dermapen™ is an award-winning, advanced micro-needling instrument that sets the standard for this procedure. Unlike the traditional dermaroller, Dermapen™ delivers treatments at a more controlled depth, resulting in more targeted, comfortable treatment with less downtime. The treatment significantly improves the appearance of facial and décolleté lines and wrinkles, mild scarring uneven skin texture, uneven pigmentation, enlarged pores and sun damaged skin.

      • What results can I expect?

        It can take a few weeks before visible signs of rejuvenation and repair are seen. The process then continues over the following months. Best results are usually seen after a course of 3-6 treatments and this will depend on your individual requirements and will be discussed fully during the consultation.

      • How long does the treatment take?

        You will usually be with us for 30 minutes. Your first appointment may be longer as it usually includes a full skin assessment, and discussion of your concerns and treatment options.

      • What about aftercare?

        We are committed to providing the very best aftercare for great results. We will go through everything in detail before your treatment but you can rest assured that redness, tightness and sensitivity will usually subside soon after the treatment. Avoid sun beds, sun exposure and alcohol-based toners. Detailed information on aftercare will be given at the consultation.

      • Is the treatment pain free?

        Discomfort is usually minor, but this can vary from person to person. You may experience a tingling, sensitive sensation but we do apply a topical anaesthetic (numbing cream) to make the treatment as comfortable as possible.

      • Is PRP & Microneedling safe?

        PRP & Microneedling is a safe procedure with low risks. Infection and scarring are rare. It is important that these aesthetic treatments are carried out by an experienced, fully-qualified and trained professional to minimise the risk of potential complications. A full discussion of the potential risks will be carried out at consultation, before any procedure is undertaken.

We will talk through all you need to know about Dermapen™, assess your skin, perform a full facial analysis and discuss your aims to develop a treatment plan that is exactly right for you.     2 The Treatment

    Your treatment duration will vary, but your full appointment will generally last between 30 and 60 minutes. We can offer a topical anaesthetic (numbing cream) to make the procedure as comfortable as possible.

    3 Aftercare

    Avoid sun beds, sun exposure and alcohol-based toners until any redness of swelling subsides. A follow-up appointment to assess your results can be offered after your first treatment. Alternatively, a telephone follow-up consultation can be arranged at your convenience.
